Common Issues & Fixes

Solutions to the most common problems users encounter with Flonnect.

🔊 Audio Not Recording?

System audio and microphone troubleshooting

Desktop App – Full Audio Support

The Desktop App provides full audio support on all platforms:

System audio on Windows, macOS, Linux
Full screen + audio supported
Meeting recording with audio
Internal microphones
External USB/Bluetooth microphones
Multiple audio sources simultaneously

💡 Recommendation: Use the Desktop App whenever audio quality is important.

Chrome Extension – Limited Audio Support

Recording a Browser Tab

System audio works when you record a specific Chrome tab.

💡 How to enable tab audio:

  1. Click the record button in Flonnect
  2. In the source picker, select "Chrome Tab"
  3. Choose the tab you want to record
  4. Make sure "Share tab audio" checkbox is enabled
  5. Click Share to start recording

Recording Full Screen

Windows

System audio can be enabled via toggle in the recording options before starting. Look for the "System Audio" switch.

macOS & Linux

System audio is not supported for full screen recording. This is an OS-level restriction that Chrome cannot bypass.

⚠️ Why this limitation? This is a restriction from the Chrome browser itself, not Flonnect. Chrome limits system audio capture for privacy and security reasons. The browser cannot access system-level audio without explicit OS support.

❗ Interactive Demo Not Working in Desktop App?

This is expected behavior.

Interactive guides cannot be created with the Desktop App.

Why?

Interactive guides require browser-level access to:

  • Capture DOM elements and their positions
  • Track click events and user interactions
  • Record navigation between pages
  • Generate interactive HTML output

This is only possible through a browser extension that has access to the page content.

✅ Solution

Use the Flonnect Chrome Extension for:

  • Step-by-step recording
  • Interactive product demos
  • Click-by-click guides
  • Onboarding tutorials
