Understand how Flonnect handles your data and how to configure permissions for recording.
Flonnect only records what you explicitly select and when you click Start Recording. We never record without your action.
We do not record anything in the background. When you stop recording, Flonnect stops capturing immediately.
Your recordings are yours. You choose what to share and with whom. Delete your recordings anytime.
Flonnect needs certain permissions to function. Here's what each permission is used for:
Required to capture your screen, windows, or specific applications.
Required to record your voice for narration and commentary.
Required for Chrome Extension to capture web content and create interactive guides.
Note: On macOS, you may need to restart Flonnect after granting Screen Recording permission for the first time.
Windows doesn't require explicit screen recording permission for desktop apps. Flonnect will work automatically.
On Wayland, you'll be prompted to select what to share each time you record. On X11, screen recording works without additional prompts.
For PipeWire-based systems, ensure xdg-desktop-portal is installed.
chrome://settings/content/microphoneWhen recording a Chrome tab, you'll see a "Share tab audio" checkbox in the sharing dialog. Enable it to capture audio from the tab.
Some websites may require explicit permission for the extension to work:
